CrossDOS
Version 4.00a
July 12th 1990
This is a very short file to inform users of the previous version of
CrossDOS (Version 3) of some of the IMPORTANT changes made in version
4.00. If the following recommendations are not adhered to you will
not be able to operate CrossDOS V4.00 successfully.
**********************
TDPatch12 or TDPatch13
First off, you CANNOT use "NOCLICK" or "tracksalv" with CrossDOS. If
you are currently using either of them, get rid of it.
If you use the "Attach" or "MountMF" programs, you can skip this
section.
In the past version of CrossDOS, running the "TDPatch12" or
"TDPatch13" program was optional. This time, IT IS NOT OPTIONAL. If
you are running with Kickstart ROMs V1.2 or V1.3 you WILL need to
execute "TDPatch12" or "TDPatch13" respectively. To execute the
"TDPatch" program, just type the following at the CLI (or shell):
C:TDPatch13 (or C:TDPatch12)
You may elect to place this command in your S:startup-sequence before
the "mount" command that configures your drive as an MS-DOS drive.
"TDPatch12" or "TDPatch13" should be transferred to your C:
directory.
The "Attach" and "MountMF" (see below for more details) programs,
will execute the correct "TDPatch" program automatically.
**********************
MountMF
A new program has been added to make your life even easier. The
"MountMF" program is designed to eliminate having to enter the
following in the CLI or your S:startup-sequence :
TDPatch13
mount di0: FROM DEVS:mountlist.msdosFS
mount di1: FROM DEVS:mountlist.msdosFS
mount di2: FROM DEVS:mountlist.msdosFS
mount di3: FROM DEVS:mountlist.msdosFS
To perform the same function just enter the following:
MountMF
That's all. It will "mount" all the floppy drives that it detects in
your system and determine which "TDPatch" program to run and proceed
to execute it.
Of course, you can continue to use the method previously described
but you must remember to execute the correct "TDPatch"
"MountMF" can also be executed from WORKBENCH if CrossDOS was
installed on your system.
